Fantastic post Jon! I'm a huge fan of Taleb's 'Antifragile', both the concept and the book, which I enjoyed more than 'The Black Swan' and deserves to be much better known.

And of course, thanks again for the mention. More microcontrollers on the way this week!

Thanks. I have yet to meet Taleb and would love to. Seems like he’d be a very fun dinner companion. I found Antifragile very inspiring and applicable.

Enjoying your latest post!

love following along as a S4NE alum (just the memory of the course still fuels me, though can't say much on my heart rate given I don't wear "wearables")! ... on the topic of hearing aids / "wearables" / ear buds, I wrote a paper last term about the material properties of hearing aids and speculated the overlap in materials with earbuds (essentially identical) would end in the collapsing of any significant differentiation between the two product categories. since then, I've got ear buds on my mind (and in my ears), and wonder if we might not soon see other medical technology deployed therein (e.g. heart rate monitoring in airpods instead of apple watches alone)

oh goodness. sounds like we should have a conversation. this sounds really thought-provoking. would love to hear more about this and of course read what you wrote. I'll be in your inbox! a fun SkyDeck company to watch, speaking of "the ear" as a next avenue for signal - is MZR Neuortech. https://www.mzrneuro.com/
